Our Founder and
Lead Guide
Hi - I'm Rich (Richard), founder and lead guide at 4x4 Explorer Adventures.
We run small-convoy, guided 4x4 expeditions, well organised and designed to feel relaxed and supportive. If you're new to overlanding or just want to enjoy the drive without the stress of planning, you'll fit right in.
A bit about my background
I was born in the UK, grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand and spent 10 years in the British Army as an Infantry Officer. I then lived in France for 20 years before returning to New Zealand in 2014.
Today I split my time between New Zealand and Europe, guiding trips for people who want great routes, great scenery, and a friendly convoy.
